what I've experienced : 7 vortex A,B,C,D,E,F,G
I entered vortex 30 times :
A=>B=>C=>D=>E=>F=>G=>B=>C=>D=>E=>F=>G=>B etc
it cycles but I'm never coming back to A , A being the initial vortex I take.
Inever tried other vortex to see if it was the same pattern tho.

since this test I entered vortex A multiples times , and my first destination is always B then C etc...

yeah it almost feels like there's some static whirlpools and some... let's call em 'chaos' ones that spit you out randomly.

The one near me always goes basically A-B-C-D-E-F-G and after I think... 8 jumps we gave up, went back and retested and it went a-b-c-d-e again but none of the ones we had already been to in the chain cycled in again despite the first couple being a very set destination even from very early in the world. Went in a few weeks ago and got A-B-C then ended up exploring the C area cause it had the biomes I wanted. Came back about 10 days later with 5 of us all in seperate boats and we all ended up A-B-C again. Do note though, we had one guy get sucked immediately into the B whirlpool so he effectively went A-C with no load screen. His boat was damaged twice and nearly destroyed, and when the rest of us went through B we all ended up at C with him.

Thanks for this topic, unfortunately I found it too late, so whoever finds that floating body with the Pimp hat, please give him a nice sending off,, preferably without teabagging his bloated corpse first :)

3.) Whirlpools are not bi directional and completely random on destination and seem to change destinations on a bi-weekly basis.

Has anyone included the moon phase in their whirlpool observations and, if so, was there a pattern?

Whirlpools seem to be random as of right now. The links do not remain the same and do change every two weeks which is what we have been recording. They seem to allow you to keep jumping then eventually you will end up with a loop like A-> B -> C -> A. And no we have found not apparent connection with moon phases yet.

Also did some more experimenting with boat breaking. The boat randomly damaged your boat up to 50%*number of people in the boat hence why sometimes it broke with two people and sometimes not... Also to further prove this, have two people go through the whirlpool at the same time and then they both will come out with damage values that are different but both 50% or below. It too dangerous to do two or more people so someone else can figure that out.

So this statement about certain links is a lost cause because they change randomly and what you are seeing is just a random mishap of links where certain ones rerolled pointing to the same or similar link of whirlpools.
