I've just found a dead Aurochs without its skin. How do I butcher it?

I carried it back to my camp but can't do anything with it

I've nicknamed those phantom corpses. They never finish rotting and never decay.

this a question to op, are you complaining that there are free dead animals? I say who cares what killed them, i'm waiting for the mysterious death of a deer and bear around me so i can get that springboard to mining
The sum of my experience is comprised up of more skeletons on my own claim then alot of you guys have wood blocks invested in your wall. But even though these skeles show i am a bad player- i still strive to continue through this vile territory in the hopes that one day i will have an army big enough to find you and murder all you know

OP is complaining about a glitch that happens with dead animals sometimes, unable to butcher them and they never decay.

I don't think anyone would actually kill a bear and leave it behind, I would expect only boars foxes that kinda stuff, they give tons of combat discoveries and sometimes I just kill them and take their hide

You'd be surprised. I found one the other day.

If a bear runs away from someone (lets say they're boat hunting and fail to instakill it), it'll eventually bleed to death. That's where high tier dead animals come from.
