Spears

Are spears edged? I thought they were pointed weapons. Pretty sure you can't sideswipe with spears.

I think magic's saying they aren't edged. And touche, forgot those existed.

Yeah, spears can't be used for cleave, and axes can't be used for sting IIRC. Seems like there's another thing in there that's weapon restricted, but I forget. (Chop, maybe?)

You missed the point. There's "heavy edged" and then there's "edged" weapons. Sevenless' question was, if swords are "heavy edged" (as in, can do cleave), what's just edged?

Spears is not the answer because spears are not edged (they cannot chop or sideswipe), they belong to another category called "pointed" (spears + swords belong in this), and this category can do sting.

"axe" is yet another category which only includes axes.

So, to summarize: Swords are melee, pointed, swords and edged (and apparently heavy edged too), axes are melee, edged (and heavy edged) and axes, spears are melee and pointed. So, the question remains: What's edged but not heavy edged?

Edged

Heavy, edged

Melee

Axe

Pointed

Sword
