Also, for the record, having treated wounds be eligible for infection is just mean.

Treated how? Treated wounds don't get infected, but leeching a wound never qualifies it as treated (probably an oversight by the devs)

Strange. I've gauzed sore bumps before and never had that issue, although I was wondering if it counted as treated or not.

Guess I got really lucky or gauze reduces infection chance.

Day 2: Wound status: 13.

+6 over two days. New forecast:

4 days left until windthrows recycle * +6 = +24. Expected wound status when Windthrows pop = 37. Will need to score both of them to end the infection right there.

New Per * Exp = 87 * 85.

I spent my play time, yesterday, doing quests. As part of the walking around I discovered two new swamps, found Dis, and found three more windthrows - all of which pop after my two unguarded locals.

I've resolved, when I break my current homestead, to move somewhere with a windthrow and wall that fucker right off so that this never happens again.

At this rate I can survive 33 days before succumbing to the infection. I figure at the very least we'll get a record of what the course of an infection looks like in case there's sudden downturns if it's left untreated for a while?

Moving somewhere with access to CF is pretty good for healing supplies too.

I'm trying to stay away from populated areas, sadly. I don't have the activity level required to defend myself 24/7 (see also: lost my clay pit the instant I stopped patrolling every day because I took a trip).

But yeah, at the very least I might set up a road to the CF road... Are ancient roots sold at CF? I thought they decayed after 12 hours?

I know I've sold camomile compresses. If you had access to there, it'd be a lot easier to meet up with someone and trade directly (they have an area set up for trading).

What are the things that make this not just "show up with pearl, get murdered in face for said pearl, feel stupid." ?

A) the trading area is blocked off via visitor debuff so it's impossible to murder anyone (except the hedgehugs, they can attack if they want but they've put an insane amount of effort into this market so that's not gonna happen).
B) You can still get scammed, trade with known trading personalities on the forums only if you're paranoid. Their rep is worth more than 1 pearl
C) stand interactions are 100% safe and the golden quill is a staple currency in the world. Just arrange transactions through stalls. Anyone can get a stall for free if they ask politely and can meet up with their stall designator.
