Or the claim/wall setup denies him physical access (without breaking walls). A frequently used exploit is to have closed roundpole gates directly behind visitor gates, no amount of criminal acts will allow you to pass these when not permitted from claim permissions.

yea thats the situation, its impossbile till i get vandalism
credo quests just should be centered on heart fires, not random trees in the forest

It's impossible even with vandalism: From the moment you go through the visitor gate (which, to reach the roundpole fence, you have to) you'll be barred from vandalism by the visitor debuff.

I guess since there is no way to avoid getting more quests with that giver, short of destroying it.

Which is, given what some people wall these in for sports, a bad mechanic in need of repair.

Or do they wall them in to keep other assholes from cutting them down intentionally? Both this attitude of looking down on others for trying to protect their interests and the others that are a tad bit paranoid and need to try to protect one lone tree are both a bit extreme in attitude.

I'll admit I live in a relatively quiet section of the world right now, but i've lost, two, maybe 3 trees or rocks since the beginning of the world. I don't think there's much of a necessity of any of it, just a few rare locations with some bad apples. it's like locking your house. Some parts of the world don't even do that because A) what good does a lock do if someone really does want to break in, and B) who's going to even bother "just checking" other than maybe some stupid teenagers? The big difference in that analogy is that one you might--might--lose some of your valuables, and in the other, you might lose 15 minutes of play time (maybe more if the timing was wrong, etc etc)

edit: I really do hate derailing a HDI topic like this, but maybe some folks will read this and get a bit wiser about how the game works.

but not from turning on criminal acts and delivering the item without scents

Yeah. If the gates are open and you can physically walk to the QG, even if you don't have tresspassing you can still turn on criminal acts to walk to the giver and complete it.

It depends on that 'if'.

I was talking about the inability to interact with the roundpole gate behind the visitor gate, in case the former is closed you can't open (or destroy) it as the latter applied visitor.

The problem here isn't the people that claim&wall stuff (questgiver, well,...) to protect them from destruction (as these allow access to the white group) but the Ives that do this to deny others access (which, for questgivers, results in griefing everyone else receiving quests for that object).
The latter group basically exploits game features to automate griefing of other players.

heres the place im talking about
Image
heres another one to south of it
these people are just being dicks, no way around it
anyways, i just cancelled and restarted the quest, so whatever, but its just bad game design how some players can just block quest progression like that, imagine playing WoW and the NPCs are blocked
