Is it possible to make some cliffs? I have tried to do some dropped dirt + pavement shenanigans but it seems to not be working. Is there some trick to it? Or can not it be done?

Is the q of ore/stone mined in caves affected by surv? Have a miner with DA and 11 surv, and he's only capable of findning q11 ore...

Thx, will note that. Another q - Should I mine on layer1, if I have q50 smelters/100 str/q20 pickaxe, or should I go deeper? Is there some table with comfortable str/pickaxe q for each level?
And another one - is the tin ore so rare? never found it in w8, nor in w9 (both boulder(started on day1)/ore)

another one q - sure I read it before, but wanna get it clear - does the q of metal axe/shovel effects something? I mean - should I craft q30 metal axe, if I have q10 onr and q50 stone axe? is there any situation, in which q30 ma will be better than q50 stone axe (better in q of butchering) or q10 metal one (is there any difference?). Same with the shovel - any diff between q10 and q30 metal shovel?

Different levels have different hardness nodes and quality nodes, in addition to different ores. You should probably keep going down until it gets too hard for you.

Axes affect butchering quality and stick splitting quality, either of which can be done with a stone axe. a Q10 metal axe is sufficient for making the blocks and chopping down trees. A higher q shovel means you dig more dirt per tick in surveys - the stamina cost per piece of dirt is the same however, so you end up digging and draining stamina very fast .

Nope, it's actually so common I recently found myself frustrated that I hit yet another cassiterite node (looking for silver and gold on layer 3; I think I have over 15 separate cassiterite nodes by now). It may be that it gets more common as you go down further.

It won't let you. It doesn't even need to cover the idol, just enough of the area so that one couldn't build another claim there. You'd need to remove said banners and such enough to give you the room needed to establish a new claim.
