Which foregables spawn on grassland?
Also which foreagbles spawn on forest, but don't spawn on grassland?
Seems that Spindly Taproot spawn only in forest terrain unless I am wrong?

Grassland: Clover, dandylion, uncommon snapdragon, lady's mantle, chickens, ladybugs, horses, higher rate of: badgers, fox, mouflon, aurochsen.
Both: Bloated bolete, morels.

The rest are forest with a couple of biome specific ones.

Also, beach: washed up bladderrack, the washed up sandpile thing.
Acre clay: thorny thistle, tangled bramble.
Swamp: red mushroom thing, lady's mantle, candleberry, emerald dragonfly, ruby dragonfly.

lady's mantle will spawn in some of the grasslands.

Also, this might be a good guide for someone to compile for the wiki. I think I recall an old one, but it needs updating with the added biomes and items.

If you can sprint at full stamina, it's grassland, if you can't, it's forest.

By the way, you cannot chase a rabbit in forest; you will need to be in grassland, so you can sprint after it.

But you can chase squirrels, which give one less meat, but a tail which can be dried for an extra, decent curio.

You can easily catch (most) rabbits on speed 3 with bunny slippers, they give a speed boost when chasing rabbits.

That explains the why I repeatedly felt as if my character ran faster sometimes.

Many items can be used as string. The easiest to get will be the taproot and the nettles. You can raising your exploration skills to see some of these. Otherwise you can look for some shallows to cross the river, swim (danger, do not recommend this one), or building a boat. I not think you will need string to building a boat.
