Logs logs everywhere cause we need fucktons for mansions and all kinds of early game shit. Except they take so much space even when packed neatly. Cliff them and if you're not as lazy as I am you can do it tidy and fit more:
You catch my drift by now. works great for boats too as well as your village's curio desks which you can comfortably access from the bottom or the top of the cliff to stock and manage.

Edited for swans, thanks. Maybe has something to do with aggroing them.
Edited again. I just managed to run over another swan, and gained over double the quality value compared to my survival, so the tip holds up. I always deaggro them before running them over, though.
