Sorry for the dumb question, i thought this was the best place to ask since it was a "Simple" question thread

How da fuq do you light the fireplace? for the life of me no matter how many of those damn fire stick thingamajigs i make and no matter how much i rightclick the fireplace, the damn thing just WILL NOT light, i'm unsure what i'm doing wrong since all the info i can find seems really old

Is there wood inside the fireplace? You first need to right-click the fireplace with branches or blocks to fill it before you can light it. After that point a right-click with a lit firebrand should work.

When in combat, there is 3 numbers of damage types red is SHP yellow is HHP but what is green?

Damage blocked by armor.

You need 2 sticks. Under Adventure, "Light Firebrand". It will perform an action, have plenty of water or you'll be too tired to drill. Once it lights you right click a fireplace and it will either light or fail and then you restart with light a firebrand. Makes sense?

i can make the firebrand, but i get NO feedback whatsoever as to whether or not the firebrand is even interacting with the fireplace, let alone whether or not it failed (tho to be honest i didn't know it COULD fail)

i use wood blocks cause for some reason the fireplace won't take branches.

If a gate is opened and pallisade next to the corner is bashed does the cascade stop or proceed through the open gate?

Considering one can bash an open gate, I'm pretty sure(~90%) that cascade damage will also ignore if a gate is open or closed.

1. make sure you're right-clicking at the fireplace/wood and not the terrain

2. there's audio feedback for everything, check game volume

3. there's a visual feedback with an hourglass

so if you're not getting feedback it's probably number 1

I assume this is about Bat Cave bats? (Normal bats don't have armor, not sure about Bat Cave bat stats.) Unlike hearthlings, animal armor never breaks. It just keeps soaking and soaking damage. You need to deal enough damage to get some damage past the armor. If you just keep dealing weak blows you won't make any progress.

It was a regular bat.
I don't know why this is happening. It started a few days ago. In the winter I killed foxes and badgers and now neither a bat.

I'll get a "Ding" when the firebrand burns out, and I KNOW that I am clicking the fireplace and not the terrain cause when I right click it with an empty hand the fireplace inventory opens up, but no matter how much I right click, the firebrand doesn't even acknowledge the fireplace as something that can burn, no hourglass, no nothin.
