"Pro tips" have over the last years, gone from the obscure details of playing the game that might not be easy to figure out to "Dummies Guide..." type points: things that aren't directly in the manual, but things that shouldn't necessarily be that hard to figure out with a minimal amount of logical thought. (Not knocking anyone. We all have our own talents. I suck at art, so...)

That we don't actually have a concise manual doesn't help distinguishing what "should be in the manual" vs actual insightful pointers and tips.

Tip 102 is no longer functional, per patch notes. Haven't tested.

Don't know if it is there but :
When you smelt ores, the quality of the fuel that matters is only the last one. So you can put 11 coal q1 and 1 coal q50 and it will be considered as q50 used for the fuel, which is a nice improve in quality.

If you log out of the game with the actual 'log out' button rather than just 'X-logging' out of the game your character will do this

To get the most use out of your high q fuel, let the smelter burn out and then relight it using your highest q coal

Might have been said, idk. Courtesy of my brother:

When fishing, make sure you're not standing in water, because if you are, and fish up something too big to carry, you might have to drop it in the water.
Total misplay.

Problem with this tip is that you might have to due to the node-based nature of fishing, either standing in shallow water or fishing from a boat. When the peak of the node is the middle of the lake for quality or the type of fish you want.... Better to suggest always have at least 5 tiles empty with a 3 tile (sturgeon) and 2x2 area (covers any size-2 fish such as salmon or eel) when fishing with the basic pole.

If you're fishing for specific fish with a casting rod, this isn't as important. You know what you want, and how much space you need to hold it.

-Getting seal finger infected is a good way of healing it without using salve or risk getting warts. Walk around in a swamp to infect yourself on purpose and then heal the infection with soap.
-Build a fireplace next to your ovens and use a torch to light them all, it's more efficient than lighting them one by one.

PSA: Combat update happened today and so combat-related tips before this date are likely patched out
