So how do you get more eggs after doing a round of silk? Do you leave a couple cocoons to hatch and hope they are male/female, do you extract some while they're still alive, what's the deall?

you simply let some cocoons hatch and then pimp the moths into cupboards. For simplicity's sake I put 4 males and 4 females in single container.

I've also taken the habit of either letting every egg to complete lifecycle (choosing higher quality eggs) or boiling them all into silk (choosing lesser quality eggs.)

Skills required to mkae ranger boots? I have all the materials discovered and I'm unable to start the recipe on my crafting alt (

According to the wiki it only requires Leather Working. However for the hardened leather and silk thread you need the skills attributed to them..
Though you say you have all the materials discovered..
But I've been seeing you've been having troubles with your discoveries, so to make sure I would make a list of everything needed and go through every process of discovery.

To craft a Monocle one needs to learn Silkmaking, even if all the materials are discovered; because a Monocle includes Silk Thread in it's recipe. I believe Ranger's Boots may be similar in that way.

Come to think of it, I guess it's a major bug with teaching/learning from parchments: you can't get recipe discoveries unless you have skill, corresponding to item/material learned.
