I think I misunderstood the way architecture works...

This was our plan:

250 stone

1. 150 flint
2. 55 porphyry
3. 45 marble

And we ended up with this:

Not at all what I had hoped for. It didn't even use the other stones. But I suppose we can live with it.

Yes, that's correct. For the stone, there was so much of your primary stone that it was also counted as your secondary and tertiary. There are also 4 wood colors so it probably did weird things to determine which got to be which since you used 3 types of wood. Worth noting that it uses the secondary colors of the woods that you use too, not the primary.

Yes, that's correct. There is only 1 stone used in the formula given by jorb so which ever was counted as the primary by having the highest amount built in got to be the only stone color. Same for the boughs, but your tar looks excellent. There are also 4 wood colors so it probably did weird things to determine which got to be which since you used 3 types of wood. Worth noting that it uses the secondary colors of the woods that you use too, not the primary.

Wait, you're saying it's using the interior colour of the blocks? Some of those are really cool for sure, but man that's a complicated system.

Edit: Re-reading the description, I see that the secondary wood colours usually match the interior but not always.

Edit2: What do you mean one stone given by jorb? The mansion description pretty clearly states there's 3 stone layers. Which formula are you referring to?

Yes, that's why the wood colors are so light. Maple and Oak are otherwise really dark materials if they're being used for their primary color. If you're looking for a deep brown for the outside of a mansion you'll have to use Hazel, Larch, Rowan, or Aspen. I'd love to be able to just point out which part of each house uses what part of the material but that's difficult to do for me.

Corrected myself after re-review. The problem was what jorb mentioned

Note that you need a significant presence of a second wood type to get a result.

There was so much Flint that the game counted it as the primary, secondary, and tertiary stones in the house.

Gee sure would be nifty if we knew cutoffs for that. Noting how he built it, it seems almost impossible to get a full 3 colours without knowing the exact values you need. Otherwise the first or second washes out the rest.

Right? Can't help you with that though, I'm as lost as you are. That'd be another great thing people could share if they get a perfect build: the cutoff points.
