Smelted an entire smelters worth of Iron Ochre, got nothing but geiss? Unlucky I assume.
Yesterday I murdered a rock, beat up a stone. Hospitalized a brick, I'm so mean I make medicine sick.

That's annoying, what are the names of better ores? I haven't discovered any yet?

Black ore, heavy earth, and (maybe) bloodstone.

I found some heavy earth but it disappeared from my cupboard, assumed it was stolen but only found trespass footprints. What are the rates of smelting for that? Black ore is the best I guess for low level metal?

Heavy earth and iron ochre are pretty similar. Usually 1 bar, rarely 2, rarely 0.

You got unbelievably lucky. 10 loads I've gotten 2 once, 0 x3, and 1 x5.
