IMO Trading is mostly dead, killed, or atleast MIA at the moment.

I dont think many people at all would have to patience to travel 3+ hours to do 1 trade. You'd only be able to take an inventory worth of items since carrying a boat with crates/chests seems rather impractical other land due to slow speed and with carts they then become useless when you get to a river..

Unless you have neighbors, yah pretty much screwed.

There should be a summon circle, where you can temporarily teleport a person (from the summon circle in their village, to the one in your village) along with whatever they're carrying. They can't leave the circle but they can drop/lift items. If someone in the village grabbed the chest and moved it out of the circle, tough luck, the guy who was summoned can't leave the circle to get it back. So there would have to be trust if you expect a trade. Also, you shouldn't be able to kill the person (this would just scare people into trading with alts).

That can be abused easily in PvP. Something jorbtar wants to avoid. It's the same logic as summoning your raid buddy with scents. Anything that deals with teleportation you gotta take into account jorb/loftar's policy and how it can affect other factors(PvP especially)

How? I mentioned the person can't be attacked, and they obviously shouldn't be able to attack either. If you want, the person would be vulnerable in their summon circle back in their village the whole time. So you can't use it to escape combat if that's what you mean?

Village A makes a trade alt/alts and places hearth fire in there base.
Village B does the same thing, alt/alts + HF in base.

Village A and B negotiate a trade arrangement. Depending on the quantity of items village A sends one or multiple alts to village B (naked alts with nothing on them). Village B does the same sending there alts to village A. Basically naked alts going to the opposite village with HF in base.

When trade is done both partys lift there goods and teleport home with the goods. Stuff gets exchanged without any risk except the pain of traveling.

Huge item limitation making bulk trade impossible and exposes one or both partys if they wish to stay hidden towards the trading party they are trading with.

its simple really, just have a skill that if you meet the requirements create a no fighting area at a serious cost of lp. make it a group thing so those involved have to pool lp into a location for a period of time. in that area you only get the option to trade/sell/buy something like that

That's a good readily available system, and probably the safest and quickest way of doing things. I still like my idea if Jorb and Loftar were to ever work on actually implementing something for it.

Like with all trading ever in the past? It's not an issue, just getting rep as a trader like in every world before.

That doesn't mean if you got rep you wont get ripped off. I can easily say I had good rep and people still (well, mostly tried) stole from me.
