There might be a window somewhere asking you if you trust the application.

Well....yeah....you need Java Windows Offline 64bit :D
Granger wrote:There might be a window somewhere asking you if you trust the application.

True...perhaps you want also to go on your control panel/java 64 bit and add havenandhearth.com to exceptions...

you probably disabled Java in browser for security reasons (Which is good) - enable in JCPL (Java Control Panel) - Security Tab - check first entry

If you're using a different browser than IE you might check on Extended Tab third block/first entry too and check in browser settings for Java Web Starter enabled

When asked how to handle the "Play" file : "Open with Java Web Start"

I'm having the same issue I think, I can watch youtube videos 1080 60fps play any other game with 20~ ping, but I'm having massive lag when playing H&H, also when accessing the forum.

1 <1 ms <1 ms <1 ms 192.168.2.1
2 4 ms 3 ms 3 ms 10.80.0.200
3 9 ms 10 ms 8 ms 2.0.236.186.futurasc.net [186.236.0.2]
4 11 ms 10 ms 13 ms 192.168.255.10
5 7 ms 7 ms 5 ms 187-45-120-69.mhnet.com.br [187.45.120.69]
6 8 ms 11 ms 11 ms 179.127.143.82.mhnet.com.br [179.127.143.82]

The lag got way worst with this new update, and now I have a new lag thing happening.
I'm walking with no lag and then... bam start to run in the same place and 15secs dalay.

Some backbone servers will ignore ping/trancert requests, so you'll always get a timeout on them. Sucks, too, as it leaves us little guys clueless when there is a real issue vs they're just trying to keep people from using these as a DDoS. On the upside, backbone cables rarely go out, and if they do, they are quickly rerouted. (Not always, but that's the idea, anyway.) Thus, one shouldn't need to know connection or server status on such routes in an ideal world.

As far as the Internet Wall, blame Obama for giving control over to the UN. Make the Internet great again! Take back control, America!! ¦] (Then again, if certain corporate interests get their way, the US keeping control of the Internet would be bad... very, very bad.)

sMartins wrote:Well....yeah....you need Java Windows Offline 64bit

This is only necessary where there is a case of Haven (and thus OpenGL) trying to use 32-bit graphics drivers that were outdated when Win7 came out. (Blame Intel.)

sMartins wrote:you want also to go on your control panel/java 64 bit and add havenandhearth.com to exceptions.

Loftar says that this shouldn't be necessary. Unless a person wants to completely restrict all access to Java unless given an exception, the Seatribe/Haven certificates should be recognized as "safe." (I'm still not sure about the https connections as I get a warning in my browser when trying to connect this way if I haven't manually inserted the certificate.)
Opinions expressed in this statement are the authors alone and in no way reflect on the game development values of the actual developers.

I live in California with comcast xfinity and I feel fortunate to get the ping that I do.

>tracert game.havenandhearth.com

Tracing route to ansgar.seatribe.se [2a01:4f8:130:7393::2]
over a maximum of 30 hops:

1 2 ms 1 ms 1 ms 2601:644:8201:7960:faa0:97ff:fe0c:f76c
2 11 ms 14 ms 11 ms 2001:558:4000:76::1
3 12 ms 38 ms 11 ms te-0-7-0-14-sur04.pleasanton.ca.sfba.comcast.net [2001:558:82:1eb::1]
4 15 ms 12 ms 12 ms be-326-rar01.pleasanton.ca.sfba.comcast.net [2001:558:80:21b::1]
5 12 ms 12 ms 21 ms 2001:558:80:1a5::1
6 13 ms 15 ms 13 ms lag-14.ear2.SanJose1.Level3.net [2001:1900:4:3::435]
7 160 ms 158 ms 158 ms lo-22-v6.edge7.Frankfurt1.Level3.net [2001:1900:2::3:71]
8 172 ms 168 ms 168 ms 2001:1900:5:2:2::1a7e
9 170 ms 167 ms 168 ms core12.hetzner.de [2a01:4f8:0:3::25]
10 178 ms 176 ms 170 ms core22.hetzner.de [2a01:4f8:0:3::d5]
11 169 ms 169 ms 168 ms ex9k1.rz13.hetzner.de [2a01:4f8:0:3::21e]
12 169 ms 169 ms 170 ms ansgar.seatribe.se [2a01:4f8:130:7393::2]

Trace complete.

Only 12 hops and it goes from San Jose California to Frankfurt, that's one hell of a cable. I don't thinks its satellite, no way can you get ping like that with satellite.

Last night the HnH website and server went down for me but I didn't do a tracerout to see who went down, i.e. was is comcasts network somewhere or was it seatribes ISP.

If I'm not wrong after the world 10 when i deleted everything and reinstalled the game...Win 10, with the new updates doesn't let me to play untill I manually said to Java that the game is fine.
