A) the trading area is blocked off via visitor debuff so it's impossible to murder anyone (except the hedgehugs, they can attack if they want but they've put an insane amount of effort into this market so that's not gonna happen).
B) You can still get scammed, trade with known trading personalities on the forums only if you're paranoid. Their rep is worth more than 1 pearl
C) stand interactions are 100% safe and the golden quill is a staple currency in the world. Just arrange transactions through stalls. Anyone can get a stall for free if they ask politely and can meet up with their stall designator.

Okay, so I found the nearest route to CF. I'm going away this weekend, but what's the basic procedure to show up and buy medical supplies? Will camomile be stocked? I have no gold quills, nor any source of gold at all, so I assume I need to bring goods to sell at a stall for coin, what's a good commodity to bring, Ant royalty? Flotsam? eidelweiss? Blueberries by the crate? Fastest route involves a considerable boat trip so I can bring up to two LCs of stuff with me without trouble...

Ant royalty goes for 7g a piece. That's the standard currency for people who have nothing of value but can put time into generating currency.

I sold my first batch of camomile compresses for 20g each and they sold out in 10 minutes. I should have another batch of camomile readying soonish, I will reserve one for you and we can arrange a trade so you're good. Traded my last personal stock to a kingdom member with a 50 point infected wound so I need to wait for them to dry.

Sounds good. I'm gone this weekend anyway so you'll have time to dry 'em.

Meanwhile I'll see about finding you some blueblooded ants.

Day 3: Wound status: 14.

+7 over three days. New forecast:

3 days left until windthrows recycle * +2.3 = +7. Expected wound status when windthrows pop = 21. The need for both of them at this point will be fully RNG dependent, though I have a course of treatment scheduled now, at least. Recording here mostly so that the community has some data about infection progression.

Been eating a lot of CON food alongside the PER food to give myself more of an HHP buffer to absorb the wound, too.

Day 6 Wound Status: 19.

So that's +13 over six days, which is +2.16 per day on average. These things will take forever to kill you. It looks like an early-game character can eat con food as a strategy to prolong survival while seeking treatments, too. I can do better than +2.16 con per day, to give it more HHP to eat. In fact that's a side effect of my pushing PER as fast as I am.

And cured, thanks to Sevenless' tireless efforts to get me to CF.

Wound was still at 19 when I got the camomile applied. hopefully the account herein helps people understand the course of infections.

When you say infected do you mean Infected sore?

sorry if this is known, but I just found out you can clean it with soap, which is also a study item. Each seperate infection scrubbed with soap yields 1 lower point on the wound and a bubble starts floating. Pop it and you get lather to study. Not sure how often you can, a subsequest scrub yielded nothing on the first wound.

For anyone wondering it's rather easy to make. 9 pieces of junk meat(made to fat then rendered), 3 limestone, and ash

It is now. This all happened before soap was released.
