Marble/Limestone/Dolomite for stone.
Planewood for boards.
Hazel for blocks.

Turned out perfect, exactly the way I wanted. Hopefully next projects will be as successful as this one!

has anyone ever said to you "Quit living in your Ivory Tower so that you can experience what the rest of the world is like?"

Not yet. Maybe they'll tell me that when I make the ebony tower right next to it

Funny coincidence, I just built Stone Tower from basalt today. (I got the basalt from mining so it was natural choice.)

Me: Mind if I build Stone Tower entirely from Basalt?

Friend: that's fucking ugly when its 100% black

Blocks are 100% maple, boards are 100% aspen. Could have probably chose better with these as well.

The wood choice wasn't that bad. The problem was you built it out of one single material.

It's the mortar in between the stones being that whitish color that kills it for me.

It was further put in evidence because of the tower's single tone of black.

Yes we discussed that and ended up agreeing that the all basalt doesn't work that well. Where I got the basalt was also schist so this feels bit of a bummer. Also while wood choices ended up being decent, during planning I brain farted and assumed the block parts would use the bark texture which is also brown. Door works nice actually but window may be bit weird. Wood parts could look nice if they were reversed.

My tower! Huge thanks to this thread for showing everyone what's what, it was extremely helpful.

Primary Stone: Quartz
Secondary Stone: Marble
Tertiary Stone: Gneiss
Boards: Cyprus
Blocks: Conker

I went with Conker because I wanted something silver or gray. Didn't turn out exactly the way I expected. I'll make an effort to create some archery targets out of woods that haven't been added to this guide, including the ones that are only posted in log form.

Cyprus is a horrible abomination that shouldn't exist. I made sure to purge my local area of those trees and use them for my pali.
