When crafting Pottery items from Ball Clay (treeplanter's pots, gardent pots, etc.) for a few days now, I have been receiving items with lower quality than expected.

My SQRT(Dexterity * Farming) (softcap of these goods) is a lot above 100, but when using ~q30 clay I receive ~q15 unburnt items.

Have there been any changes of softcap mechanics or skill-related attributes that I may be missing? Or is there any way to obtain higher quality items, comparable to the materials quality (provided they're not softcapped)?
Thanks.

Survival, Cooking, Farming, Exploration:
- Survival - it softcaps almost anything you can collect - water, soil, branches, leaves, stone, rabbit or squirrel meat and skins, etc. It is really important to have a nice Survival that is higher than the quality of the materials you can find.
- Cooking - maybe not that mandatory, but really good to have, it allows you to raise your stats quicker.
- Farming - the single most important skill for hermits, allows you to get really high quality food or materials for curios or equipment (especially wood).
- Exploration - really good for hard to find forageables, especially medicines, or curios. Used mostly in the early game.

Good to have:
- Sewing (for equipment or curios)
- Carpentry and Smithing (optional) - if you plan on crafting with these

Without using a potter's wheel (http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Potter's_Wheel), the quality of ceramic goods is halved.
I think it's made of bubbles and hate.

in this game there is no "one stat" to focus on. Especially as a solo player.

if you were in a big village, that's well established and good player count, then focusing on one skill/stat may be acceptable.

but since the devs did away with the belief sliders, your char can literally do everything. I believe most peeps have 2-3 chars. 1 crafter, 1 forager, 1 fighter. back in previous worlds, players would have up to 10+ chars(one for each skill and throwaway fighters) but that has been curtailed by the exp system.

If I were you, I would work on surv/explore, then farming, then sewing/carpentry, etc etc, they don't have to be mondo gains, but each stat helps out in its own way. surv/explore, so your wild kills and foraging do more. farming then cause by the time you got your surv/explore up you may be ready to look for a place
