C) Keep pushing boundaries and use every game mechanic possible to improve things for that small percentage margin. In the case of your water, find a well of decent quality, claim and wall it, and then use the hearth magic ability to keep raising quality as you build up XP. Water isn't a hard cap, it just slows things down, so keep pushing in other ways, too. Make some friends with the factions to see what they're willing to trade.

Thanks for advices! I have a well q15. It is worth to upgrade? How much the quality will rise after the magic?

A great way to make alot of ropes is killing boars (extra easy animal but any hide works) and taking their hides, tanning them, and crafting them into straps.

So the answer is no I would have to waste the mats to see what ql it is. That's fine just wondering if I was missing anything. Like the more ropes the higher the node was etc

I would look for a better quality well before burning XP on one, like 40-60 at a minimum. The spell only raises quality by about 5 points at a time, and doubles in cost every time you use it on the same well.

I think there is a spell or something that you can cast to increase the quality of your wells, it was in a recent patch I think.

I thought that the number of ropes may be an indication of better water when I built my first one, I used 35, or more, (I forget exactly now) ropes and ended up with 11q water ... :(

So yeah, no indication which is a shame, I'd like there to be a way to have at least a rough idea of what q you are going to be getting.

It was in 'Thy Kingdom Come' patch;

"Dig Deeper": By digging a well deeper you can reach lower, cooler, and ever fresher sources of water, increasing the water qualities of the well. Digging Deeper becomes more expensive the farther down you get. Cost: 20000 XP, doubling each time you dig the well deeper.

But, as it only raises it by a few points and increases in cost to use it is not worth using unless you already have found pretty decent q water to start with.

Ok, thanks, I will search for it!

Just a couple of questions:

[*]has quality of water any impact on stamina regen/ energy usage?

[*]According to the wiki, bloodstone has 20% chance of smelts into cast iron, modified by skills. Does it means that it's capped at 20% if you have everything? I have everything (deep artifice included) and from 250 freshly mined ores I only managed to get 30 bars of cast iron... it's roughly 12% of success rate. 250 is not a "big" number, but from my experience any RNG should start to give right % after ~100 iterations. Just bad luck or am I missing something?
