You can triangulate from other, probeable, water sources. Or go dowsing to find a tile where the water isn't deep (so least material for a well) and make a test well then, in case you find quality water that makes the effort worth it you can always build more wells till you located the center of the quality node.

Just a couple of questions:

[*]has quality of water any impact on stamina regen/ energy usage?

[*]According to the wiki, bloodstone has 20% chance of smelts into cast iron, modified by skills. Does it means that it's capped at 20% if you have everything? I have everything (deep artifice included) and from 250 freshly mined ores I only managed to get 30 bars of cast iron... it's roughly 12% of success rate. 250 is not a "big" number, but from my experience any RNG should start to give right % after ~100 iterations. Just bad luck or am I missing something?

The proabilities given are for having all related skills, plus they could be off since they could be ported from the legacy version.

Trying to figure out how a horse left outside of a pen died sometime after I logged out last night.

- It was pregnant
- Died outside range of food troughs
- Area was completely walled in

Nobody else has access to my claim, so the only things I can think of would be it starved to death or someone shot it over a wall. Is there some way to shoot animals over walls? Or did it likely die of hunger in the 8-10 hours where I logged out? Im guessing it was the lack of food, but was surprised it died so quickly.

I don't know how long he can survive with no food, but for sure it depend on his "wellfedness". If he is at low wellfeedness he could die very fast

How common is ore in this world? Is it worth just building a minehole in my claim, or am I better off moving and prospecting for a location? I know there's multiple levels and all, but I just know in world 3 ore was very hard to find and I don't really know how it is now.

No, it's not hard to find, there is a lot of it in the caves now ... :)

Personally, I always start off in a cave, before I started doing that I would just use an alt to claim a cave I found ore in, but, that was when ore was harder to find.

Thanks Amanda, I think I'll try my luck and build one on a claim then, it will probably be worth it eventually! :D

Prospect first man...otherwise it will be super annoying. If you need only few ore to begin with i suggest to prospect over a cave...then later on you can build your mineshaft.
Make friends with the other crabs or try to escape the bucket.
