You don't need to prospect, seriously, there is tons of it ... why waste time and end up building a minehole off your claim that you then need to claim and wall?

I've only ever prospected to go down levels, more so in legacy when you had to really as there was less of it ... but here on a couple of levels.

That's true, there are so many ore veins that sometimes one vein mixes with another and you end up with two or three types of ore in your inventory at the same time :P

Don't waste time prospecting, the time you waste prospecting is more than the time you'll need to mine in a straight line to find ore if you're not lucky in your first try :)

I guess it depends where you live and how lucky or not you are...where i am there is dolomite everywhere, enough tin, but only few copper and iron...you need less than 5 minutes to propect and you are done, otherwise it could happen you mine for weeks finding nothing...i tell you this cause it's happen to me :D , i was telling myself: screw the propsect, just mine...after some weeks where i find only tin i get bored then I have prospected and litterally 2 minutes after i had the iron i need.
With the minehole i'm agree you can just mine (btw if you need immediately ore prospecting first is better) cause you need to free the area to go down on levels next.

And this is in the new version? Awww. :(
Well, if I was ever that unlucky then yeah I'd probably prospect too. :)

@ Kracken ... if you need immediate ore it's in the cave by the swamp. :)

Is there a circumstance where a crop will stop growing ?

I planted a field of Flax over 70 hours ago and it still says 1/3 on 95% of it, although a handful are at 3/3 and ready to harvest.
All of the field is within range of one of (if not both) Beeskeps.
Area still shows as plowed.
Area is on a personal claim.

Screenshot here if needed to check things...
Dunno why the spoiler is not working, I did type it in Image

Bee skeps have a limited number of tiles per day that they can pollinate.

Per the RoB:
"Each time a crop grows to the next stage, it checks if there's a beehive within range. If it finds beehive, the time before the next stage change is reduced, and the beehive receives a usage tick. Beehives can store up to 50 uses (and noting how jorb worded it, it's likely they start will a full 50 when first created), and will regenerate 6 uses per hour. Crops using a beehive will cause honey and wax production (exact mechanics unknown), but jorb has stated there is a low level of base production of honey/wax by a hive even if it has no crops nearby." -Sevenless

you've probably used up all of the tiles the skep can produce, so some of your crops are growing faster than others.
I think it's made of bubbles and hate.

So a Skep can only increase a total of 50 squares ?

Think of it as having +6 uses per hour up to 50 uses max, and each crop using it once every time they change their states. It's not a hard limit but more like an efficiency limit.
That is, there's no pexact math like "Skeps will serve X tiles" because crops have different growth speeds, yes, one skep will AT MOST help 50 crops when they grow in the same hour but, for example: one skep should be enough for 50 tiles of pumpkins while you might need 2 or 3 for maximum efficiency on a carrot field of the same size.

Your bee skeps are probably unable to stock uses due to many crops growing and "looking for uses" faster than they can regenerate theirs, so yes, in short you could use a couple more skeps.

Is there anything that's better to put in animal food troughs, or are all things the same? Are fifty seeds equivalent to one carrot? Five seeds? What do pumpkins count as? Will I ever get this damn food trough over 1/3 full?

In legacy I had some pumpkins, some livestock, and nothing starved. When I was feeling more keen I actually bothered with the beetroot and carrots, and they had shiny high-q food. Mostly I would now like to go for the smallest amount of clicking to avoid starvation. Help pls?

(The livestock are not actually mine but I'm looking after them a bit sometimes. The rabbits are mine, but I abandoned them for a couple of days and for all I know they've starved now).
