Like with all trading ever in the past? It's not an issue, just getting rep as a trader like in every world before.

That doesn't mean if you got rep you wont get ripped off. I can easily say I had good rep and people still (well, mostly tried) stole from me.

Eh? I don't think I follow. A recognized trader would be the one to set the rules of the trade and be the one to deliver the final product, not the buyer. My point is that if someone is endorced enough, people will just let them port the goods out first and then take theirs. I'm sure that a known trader like you, ramones, fully comprehend that there is no risk for you in that sence.

Imagine the situation when a character with top melee or ua skills will come at your trading port with malicious intent.

Not everyone is trustworthy. You can pay someone but behind your back that person is being influenced by griefers to make exceptions. Point is it's a bit too early(week 2) to start trading anyways. When the time comes, people will solutions to these problems when villages start opening shops.

I still have high hopes for stalls. If you can trade with them over walls, but have to get to them to steal (ie break into the base), traveling between villages and buying and selling stuff through stalls could be a viable profession. And if you make a proxy base for stalls you can maintain a degree of privacy, though that would mean you'd have to do some walking on a regular basis.

This is the first suggestion I've heard for trading that doesn't violate haven code but also sounds convenient enough to be feasible.

I'd almost rather it be a structure you can "build into" a wall somehow to make it feel a little more immersive and less magic items teleporting, but only thievable from one direction.
Lucky: haven is so quirky

Locks have a master/slave key. The outside vs inside mechanism could work with stalls

perhaps they could design a trade interface that allows limited trading across distances and the higher the "trading" skill the farther you could trade with someone. People could eventually "pay" you to trade items for them. I dunno, just a brainstorm.

Sorry, didnt read all the post.
Safest way I see trading is each village make an alt and go to the other village ( ok, take 1h, not a big deal ), take goods and port back.
As to the trust, oath killing were already a thing in HHH1, nothing changed.
