Performance might be better on custom clients if some things are done to improve performance.
Though I dont think that theres currently custom clients which would include ONLY performance tweaks.

hetzner servers seem to be having issues in general. I decided to check haven servers since you nerds are better at nerdy stuff and i was not disappointed found some traceroutes to compare with my townie's, and it is indeed a widespread problem it seems. 2k ping on the hetzner node from cali :\ JC is awol, Loftar could you whine at your hosts and get some answers?

It seems to go worse at times. I had decent gameplay in the morning, but in the afternoon I got horrible lag and it goes up and down during the day.

With my tracert I noticed there is also some minor issue between Los Angeles and New Jersey, but not nearly as bad as the almost 4 seconds after Frankfurt.

It's funny how some ppl see routing and responsibility ... (but yes at times the Hetzner Backbonering and their Junipers has some very slight hickups too - while funny enough packet loss by my Wifi is always higher as theirs - but to be honest my ISP has a direct line to and a private peering point with Hetzner)
