How can I reduce hungry gauges?

I am eating to recover energy, but I am in trouble because the hungry gauge is too high.

This isn't trouble so much as you've eaten too much filling food that has little other benefit. It just slows down your FEP gains more from overeating. Try to find high energy, low hunger foods. A ratio of 100:1 (energy:hunger) is a good mark to aim for as a minimum for restoring energy. There are a few.

Talking about aesthetics (but maybe that has an utility too):

If I stomp to dirt an hardsteppe terrain, does it return to be hardsteppe after some time? And if I plant a tree over the dirt, and the tree produces some wald, if I stomp to dirt the wald does it return back to hardsteppe or to wald?

Tile has no knowledge of its previous biome. Biome spreads from tiles to adjacent dirt tile. So in your example, the hardsteppe will spread onto dirt tile.

How do i find metal? i have mining and been mining for a while now but found no metal at all. Tried all diffrent kind of material to mini on but nothing but some cat gold.

mine in caves, if you find stone, just move 5-10 tiles next to it and try again, youll find some ore eventually

you need to put them in a smelter for like 1 hour to obtain metal, although the chance is rather small
