It depends on the attack move...some have armor penetration (like ants), etc....

Logged in to try out the new game, wondered around, built some stuff. Logged out. Logged in a few days after the fact, am a purple star again. "Switch character" - nope. No list of characters either. Do characters die of hunger while offline now or do you have to pay to play or what?

Edit: Oh, world reset in the last couple days?

So what do I do against oppressive (red) moves? Wiki lists two restorations apparently gained from bats, but I've killed tons of bats by now and never learned any restoration against oppressive. Ants also don't seem to teach me any new moves anymore. I just lost all of my armor (armor, pants, boots, batcape) in a fight with a badger because it kept hitting me with oppressive moves, leaving me 100% open to them with no way whatsoever to reduce the opening. Am I just fucked, unable to learn the required restorations to give me any chance against animals using oppressive moves?

The way I've been gaining moves, I'm tempted to say it's random.

I was annoyed at not being able to reduce red opening as well. Then I got Flex after killing a Bear, which reduces red and causes Blue on your enemy.
I still havent gotten a move that just reduces Oppresive openings and nothing else. The only things I didnt kill yet are Mammoths, Walruses and Trolls.

So either one of those three gives that specific move, or it really is random. In which case you'll probably just have to do boat hunting until you get the right move (I've goten most of mine by killing animals on a boat). Which is a terrible system.

My own questions: Does anyone have an idea how the stats and attributes actually work for combat? What exactly does higher Agility and Unarmed Combat do? I know strength influences damage, but the other stuff I have no idea about.

Second, can anyone explain how animal quality works? I've read some places that arrows softcap the quality, but slings dont. Other places people say the opposite. And other places they say you HAVE to meele fight to preserve quality. Anyone have a solid answer for this?

Does the new Will attribute matter for anything other than crafts softcap? For example, is it important for fighters at all?

No one knows other than Jorb and Loftar, but at this point it doesn't look like it,

It's a maple leaf, if I recall correctly. Also it should give you a tooltip telling you what it is if you hover over it.
