When defeating wild animals with a sling or a bow, how can you derive the quality of the materials you get?

Even ((40+10)/2+10)/2 = Q12.5 wouldn't surprise me.

That's actually more correct.

When training an animal What is the minimum required status and method?
I would like to train a horse and a sheep.
Ropes and hitching posts and leather armor and clovers are ready.

Not really a "simple questions" question. People are still trying to figure it out, or at least the ones that have haven't shared tips yet. I might recommend seeing these bug reports:

In theory you can probably do it with 10 STR/AGI and minimal UA/MC. Nobody has figured it out how quite yet from what I'm reading. Until then, I'd aim for 50 UA, good armor, and 30-40 AGI & STR minimum, higher is better. Pay attention to your combat deck so you're not doing needless damage.

Oh, and using bows and slings works, too. Just be careful not to kill.

I'd recommend to start with the sheep. They are the weakest of the animals you can domesticate.

I've tried to use slings after trapping the animal with boulders, but the stones always stop before the boulders. Is this intended? How can you use slings to tame an animal?

Shoot the animal, not the trap.
