Shovels now dig multiple units of soil per dig action when using Surveys. Wood shovels dig a base value of 2 units of soil per action, and metal shovels dig a base value of 4 units, and both are modified by quality. Do note that a single tile will never be dug for more units of soil than to the height level you're aiming for. You're welcome.

I was confused by this too. Either it's a typo or a cryptic way of saying you need to have at least 4 IP to use it. And each time you use it you get +2 IP.

Has nothing to do with the claim shield. The only two ways to reduce the claim shield is either expansion or being sieged. As long as there is presence, the shield regenerates at X points per hour. Details are here: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Claim_Shield

I read somewhere in the threads that poppycaps were plantable.

I made a garden pot, filled it with dirt and water but could not plant the poppycap. Do they require something special to plant them ?
