Does the quality of a wooden shovel matter in regards to stamina drain?

Wood shovels dig a base value of 2 units of soil per action, and metal shovels dig a base value of 4 units, and both are modified by quality. Do note that a single tile will never be dug for more units of soil than to the height level you're aiming for. You're welcome.

I built a gate opening the wrong way, is there a way, other than destroying it and rebuilding it, to change its direction ?

I was confused by this too. Either it's a typo or a cryptic way of saying you need to have at least 4 IP to use it. And each time you use it you get +2 IP.

Either you expanded your claim or you did not have the deed in your study or you did not complete studying any curiosities.

Has nothing to do with the claim shield. The only two ways to reduce the claim shield is either expansion or being sieged. As long as there is presence, the shield regenerates at X points per hour. Details are here: http://ringofbrodgar.com/wiki/Claim_Shield

I read somewhere in the threads that poppycaps were plantable.

I made a garden pot, filled it with dirt and water but could not plant the poppycap. Do they require something special to plant them ?
