Just finished a gate right near the cave, on the next tile to it.
BTW exiting this cave in such a case will be bugged letting me to go through the gate.

destroy gate - in front of them do new CP with a gate ... (or extend by 1 first then CP with gate) ... gives you 1 - 2 tiles to get out of cave and use gate

Round 1: Killed 2, 3 survived.
Round 2: Killed 1, 2 Survived.
Round 3: Killed 1, 1 Survived.
Waiting on round 4 to see if the only surviving animal gets tamed or dies like the rest.

Are you tanking the animal in the open or use any obstacles?

All gates (stick fence, palisade, brickwall) seem to follow the same rules and with stick fences you can build two gates directly behind each other.
So it should - in theory - work for all types of wall and no clear area is needed.

In general I find that roundpole fence work exactly same way as palisade in term of placement mechanic and such. It is good, cheap way for people to test some thing they might be concern with.

It needs to mention one difference: roundpole fence can be built close to the water, but palisade needs to be built at 4 tiles away from the water.

When did punch become so lethal? Hell I am only doing like 4-5 dmg and when the animal dies I get the little yellow +# come up but its still dead.

You should check out recent discussions on this matter. There is no clear answer, but pay attention to your combat deck, space to run away, and do big damage, not a lot of small damage.

I'm in process of taming multiple animals. Some are already tamed, some are still ongoing. No animals died yet. I don't use any exploit/blocking animal paths to me. I just fight/tank them fair. Using uppercut(2-3 times) and sideswipe with my sword. Doing 20-80+ dmg.

Sorta both,

I do it in open til I have to back off and use defenses then I jump on the other side of a HF and defense til I am ready to fight again but they have plenty of room to flee so it should not be due to being boxed in.
And it seems rather random what happens. btw as an update the last animal I had tethered died on the 4th round. So 0 for 5 attempts, Tethered another 3 and 2 made it past round 1 and one died.

Thanks for the other info on it. I dont think I can do big damage but will see what I can do differently.

I've tried that, they die. If I tank them all the way - they don't. I think the problem is not the damage, but the new animal's behavior. They aren't convinced you are stronger when you are hiding behind a HF, so they don't give up.
