I just go up to it with an empty inventory, 'take 24' or hwoever much space you've got, manually ctrl-click to dump the items I don't want, store the rest in a stockpile adjacent to the first.

I usually take the whole stockpile into my inventory (I'm verified and have two t-sacks with a leather backpack) and put the crap quality items in their own pile and then the good quality into another and then just destroy the crap quality pile.

Am I correct in assuming that I can't put another of the same gilding onto an item? e.g. I can't just stack taproot lacings to make MEGASURVIVALBUFF?

Correct, 1 of each type is the most that's allowed.

So nobody figured out how to (if it's even possible) to describe combat moves to other toons?

I went hunting and found it.

"Combat Instructions". Combat Instructions can be used to teach attacks and moves to others. You may craft a Combat Instruction by holding a Parchment, and right-clicking an attack or move you wish to describe in the "Martial Arts & Combat Schools" subsection of your character sheet. A combat instruction is studied in the Study Report just as a curiosity would be, but consumes LP upon completion, rather than giving it. A combat instruction records the number of the particular attack whoever crafted it had, and can be used by others to learn the move in question up to that level. (I.e 4xPunch, or whatever). You cannot study the first attack of a particular kind using a Combat Instruction, which, instead, must still be learned from an animal. If you have a Combat Instruction in your Study Report, however, you will -- this specifically for the first attack of that kind -- always receive the attack in question from any animal which gives it, removing the random chance to get that particular attack. Should a Combat Instruction thus help you to get the first attack of a particular kind, it will be consumed at no cost in LP.

One issue of note: It doesn't tell you which animals can give the move. Minor nuisance.

Actually I can see what I was doing wrong

Firstly the parchement already had something written on it and

Secondly you can't teach another character a combat move that was learned from a skill like Parry/OakStance etc (which is what I was trying to teach my fighter. Oh well, guess he'll have to learn the subtle art of mining and treeplanting to be a better scrapper... sighs...

I've built a barter stand and took ownership of it, i see now that there's like a header thing on the top of my barter stand- do I have the ability to put a message on it?
If so, how?
The sum of my experience is comprised up of more skeletons on my own claim then alot of you guys have wood blocks invested in your wall. But even though these skeles show i am a bad player- i still strive to continue through this vile territory in the hopes that one day i will have an army big enough to find you and murder all you know

If you use a sketch on it, you can apply an image to it.

How does combat work, I've been trying to get it for the past 2 weeks, I can't even kill an ant swarm. Also, I keep hearing about mods or clients to make the UI easier to manage, but I'm having no luck finding it. Can someone give me a link?
