I really hate that too.

Well at least people aren't bitching that the wiki just sucks/isn't updated/outdated/is wrong anymore. If all we can bitch about is bad redirects, I'd say we're in a good place.

That being said:

Sorry the search engine is kind of shit. It sucks that you have to explicitly capitalize the second word in a search, its been discussed and i don't think we can fix that.

If the severe lack of redirects chaps your hide, tell me what pages piss you off, I'll try to fix it

Not true ... any more.

Example:
Both RoB-wiki search options (Go & Search) will find the "Grey Seal" page when using "Grey seal" as search string. (without quotations marks of course)

There is one exception. And that is if instead of spaces one uses underscores. In that case it will need to be case correct (with the exception of the first character).
Ie: "Grey_seal" will not find anything, while "grey_Seal" will find the "Grey Seal" page (and only the "Grey Seal" page => "There is a page named "Grey Seal" on this wiki.")

... It kinda pays to once is a while recheck one's facts. ...
(in this case RoB's MediaWiki was updated after the mentioned discussion)

I'm not especially adept with updating wikis.

I'm fixing pages to have current W11 satiations but need to remove the tag from the page notice call to remove "Satiation data may not be accurate yet on this page. (or might be missing)". It does not seem immediately obvious where or what page I ought to be doing that on.

Additional side notes:
If "SAT" is the only element in the "{{Pagenotice|SAT}}" text. One can:
- 1) just remove the "|SAT" case from the "{{Pagenotice|SAT}}" text. => "{{Pagenotice}}"
- 2) or remove the whole "{{Pagenotice|SAT}}" text/line.

If "SAT" is not the only element in the "{{Pagenotice|...}}" text (don't think there is such a case yet, but there might be in the future), like for example in "{{Pagenotice|OUT|SAT|OTHER}}", one should only remove the "SAT" case. => "{{Pagenotice|OUT|OTHER}}"

Looks like "Lock" needs to be a category on the wiki with the general description of how they work, and then a page each for "wooden lock," "metal lock," and "steel lock." Just to make sure I do it right, I just need to add [[Category:Lock]] to each of those three pages, and redirect the current "Lock" page to the category page, correct?

Yep, doing what you describe will do what you expect.

Having a category for three (six if you count keys) pages might be considered excessive. Adding this info to the Locks & Bolts page and redirecting key words (haha) to that page may be a better option.

Additionally, there's a template called {{disambig}} which works as a landing page when someone searches an otherwise ambiguous term. see Wort as an example

BUT, that being said, choose whichever option you feel works best for what you want to do. These are just some alternatives to consider

That's the thing... I'm not sure what is best to do. Thanks for the input.

The number of items that would go into a particular category is probably the least important reason, on its own, for not having a particular category.

Category:Dungeon (3)
Category:Ranger's Set (4)
Category:Toolbelt (6)
Category:Ants (6)

+ "[[Category:<category-name>]]" - Adds source page to target category. (adds category-link to source-page category-bar)
+ "[[:Category:<category-name>]]" - Creates normal wiki-link to target category-page (ie: without adding the source page to the category).

From what Ricky suggests, and looking at the wort page, here's what I'm thinking. Subejects like "Lock & Key" and "Wort" are really in need of the general information on that page describing what, exactly, the players need to do, be aware of, etc, in one place. I don't think it matters what page it is on, but it needs to be somewhere on a general page and players can click links through to more specific pages that give specific information about an item, and not have a process or other information repeated on multiple pages. Redundant information has been a problem in the past, and continues to be a problem.

I like to organize, but I tend to do things according to "my vision" and it is often quite wonky compared to what people might expect. It looks great to me and is well ordered, but to Average User August, it's a chaotic mess. I tend to not touch such things without at least input from people on what they like and don't like.

I don't have time at this minute, but maybe I'll make a couple mock-up pages under my user profile or something so people can see what I'm thinking of.
