I'm trying to expand my village but whenever I try it tells me "This land is already ruled."

Is there a limit to how many banners I can place?

No limit on the amount of banners, but the limit that you can't expand into other claimed territories.

Ah yea. I forgot that I've got an abandoned village nearby..

All oven recipes are 4 branches (approx. 20 min). I haven't found an exception to it yet, at least. The cook time is actually the same in an oven or fireplace. You just don't have the warm-up time with the oven.

Going to let someone with more hunting experience advise you on the walruses.

Oven is like 10 minutes.

There are some abilities under "Hearth Magic" that require them. There's not many currently--"Lament the Departed" (requires a deceased ancestor to see it that hasn't fully inherited) and "A Prayer for Strength"

It would be nice if the name of the blocking claim would be shown in the error message:

This area is already gouvernd by 'village in the way'

It's the name of the nature spirit. Just follow the arrows to what is indicated: tree or rock. There you will find the spirit.

Uh, where should I see the arrows? I'm not seeing arrows on my screen.

Open the quest panel and click on the quest so it is highlighted. Then spin your screen around until you see an arrow and a tree icon.

Use the normal camera, not badcam, so you can see the exact location.
