Its mostly random, there is no set time frame. They regenerate when a decay tick hits but those are random and happen even less when maps aren't loaded.

From my experience you cant rely on trees regenerating for something like mulberrys you just have to plant a crazy amount.

I have a conundrum, is there a way to oath a character on the same account as the lawspeaker since they cant be both logged in at the same time?

Or am I going to have to make another alt just to be lawspeaker to get these two in the same village?

yes, you need a 2nd account

You need a second account but it doesnt have to be the lawspeaker, any villager can be given the ability to accept oaths in the village management pane.

So, I just started playing and discovered where my hearthfire spawned. I was under the impression that people spawn toward the middle of the map but you want to move toward the edges to avoid others. Turns out I actually spawned closer to the edge of the map than the center. Is that typical, and is there a general guideline on how far from the center you should be?

It's not like that anymore, i think the spawn now is random ... or something similiar.

Aye, it's "evenly" random across all of the map. If I recall (and interpreted) a comment, there are some "cluster areas" where players spawn instead of just being completely random. There's only been a few vague comments on it from the devs other than it is across the whole map.
