You can build a palisade in a tile 3 dirt up/down from the current one, making actual slopes, easier than it seems.

I must be missing something with the land surveying. Unfortunately, my claim is in an area where the land slopes by more than 3 units. It seems like my only choice is to flatten it completely. Is there a way to flatten it only to the point where the elevation varies by 3 units? How do you create a slope?

Perhaps you havent realized that surveys can be adjusted? the bar/meter in the center can be adjusted up or down varying .1m per tick

surveys default to the median area which requires adding/removing the least amount of dirt. if you set another survey you can align the outer edge of the survey with adjacent surveys. green dots on the ground mean the earth is at the level displayed on the survey. blue dots mean its higher and purple dots mean its lower. when your survey is 100% green dots your land is level. match adjacent surveys to your level land and keep working.

as for slopes: set two surveys next to each other. level one, then the other. a slope will be made equal to the difference between the two surveys

Quick questions about Water vs Spring Water. I have access to q49 Water and q22 Spring Water. Which of them is better used for tree planting? Does Spring Water have any advantage for tree planting if it has the same Q as Water?

Thanks

IIRC, spring water has double its quality for calculation purposes*. Since your chance for tree growth is already 100% with all skills, I'm not sure of any advantages there.

You're better off with the q49 water vs q22 spring water.

*this is the case with all of the natural resources you can use as substitutes for other crafting items.

clay cauldrons take 5 minutes to come to boil and halve water quality when calculating output quality

metal cauldrons boil instantly and use base water quality.

might need to give us a bit more concrete example. This is the first complaint of this type. Note that you can't have more than 2x your base attribute/skill as a bonus, so if you've only got 10 survival, +5 from gilds, +5 from kingdom bonus, and +10 from the credo, it would only be 20.

So a naked character with full forager is showing no bonus to exploration or perception. Tested the perception with baking and softcap is not improved however I wasnt paying enough attention to whether the base stat increased (as I was expecting it to be a bonus) so perhaps that's what it does - will check when i get another credo.
