How long does the red handed debuff stay? The wiki says nothing about it. I think I accidentally committed theft.

1 hour. Outlaw (character not removed from the world on logout) will last as long as the scent you created.

Other people interface

Postby Aglaeca » Mon Oct 09, 2017 7:41 pm

So I made a couple of alts since I have surplus of food and of cheapie curiosities that I wanted to feed them...

I botched the first one, who failed to notice the skull-on-a-post that would bring her to my wilderness beacon and she is wandering in the wilderness somewhere hoping to acquire clothes before she gets chillblains (Devs: please note: This is NOT a suggestion!!)

The second one happily showed up with her hearth fire taking over the spot where my wilderness beacon was. Yaye!

Now to give her permissions to happily provision herself from my claim.... Um.

Upon belatedly reading the forum I see that I can make and give her a "Bond of Blood and Soil" - Hmmm. Okay, induct her into the Nazi's... ah well, she can be a Antifa infiltrator.

Prior to this however, what I came up with was logging into my account two times simultaneously so that I could switch from one window to another. It worked. Kinda. As soon as I logged into the second account the first one shut down, but happily it left a ghost of the other character, so by working very fast I was able to memorize before she disappeared. The second go around I was able to click on her and set my own hearth secret before she vanished, and the third time to use the hearth secret to make kin, and the fourth time to change her to the right colour display. This required me to log in at least eight times, probably closer to eleven what with the times that I selected the character but before I could figure out what to do with the other people interface it vanished.

Both my characters are now very nervous and spooked and jump as the least little crackle in the brush because these disappearing ghosts are creepy.

So... Is there a way to click on the other people interface - is that called the kinship interface? -without actually having another player logged in for me to click on to bring it up? Suppose I want to bring up my interface again to change my hearth secret, because my damned alt is a blabbermouth, or something. Or I regret my hearth secret and want to change it to something less dorky? I don't see a way of getting to this kinship interface through my character screen. Is there another way?

Set hearth secret on character 1. Logout.
Log into character 2. Make kin by Heath secret using character 1's hs. Logout.
Log into character 1 (who owns the claim). Right click in the claim totem and set permissions for specific colors. (While applies to everyone, even if not kinned.) Then go to you kin list and set your alt to the appropriate color to grant permissions on the claim.

---

Alternatively, if you make 2 different accounts, you can log multiple clients and have them both online simultaneously.

You have to be logged in on the character to access the kin list.

Maybe the problem is that you have given a Bond to an alt. After studying this for 96 hours, it transfers ownership to the character that studied it. To manage claim permissions, log in to the character that has ownership. In the kin list, you can then manage what colors the different people have. On the totem interface, you can then manage what permissions each color has.

You can also add people to your kin list via hearth secret. Just set one on each character, and type it into the appropriate dialog box on the other character(s) you have.

I think I covered it all, but try to ask direct questions in this forum. It'll help you get correct answers. Save the RP for The Moot or Inn.

Also what redskies said about using more than one account. Very helpful, and most computers that were made this decade can run at least two clients without blowing up.

How do I set hearth secret? The only way I have managed to get into that menu is by clicking on another character. I have not done a bond of blood and soil.

Open the "kin" (buddy) list-- ctrl+b
Inside, you see a couple dialog boxes. One will be called "presentation name," another "set hearth secret," another "make kin by hearth secret."

When you get a stat boost from a credo, is it a soft boost such as when you use gildings or does it automatically get added as if it were a normal level?
