Do underground quest givers spawn on levels lower than 1?

I have heard, but not seen, one that was apparently on L2

They can. They exist on all levels. I'm not sure what the conditions of the mining credo quests are, but if you use Commune with Nature on any level, it (should) directs you to a spirit on that level.

Found one on L2... next question; how tough are slimes? i.e. how much ua/mc roughly do I need?

thanks, as always!

Edit: well, for someone's future reference, i found them (individually) very easy with 66ua and just punch on L2; they could definitely be done much sooner.

They get more common and tougher as you go down. I advise you to be careful and wear armor if mining on L5 or 4 with only 66 ua :)

yes, so i hear... will do!

Next question... my first cave hermit quest points to a questgiver on L4 far from any mineholes, is this the sort of thing I can expect as an average quest or should i just abandon?

If you seperate some of you animals in two animal pens, would a food trough in the middle be able to food both pens? I.e can the animals use the food trough through a fence?

Edit: Thx

Without a problem. As long as the animal is in the radius of the trough, it will eat from it.

A few questions about World 10

Postby Balorvale » Sun Nov 12, 2017 7:45 pm

Hello!

I've done my best to research hunting guides and I seem to have no luck in finding one up to date (I've tried archery and it doesn't seem to be what it used to). As someone who is starting completely from scratch trying to build a village with a couple of friends who have never played the game before I'm struggling a bit with the new mechanics.

The foremost of these mechanics I'm struggling with is hunting. I've been playing off and on since world 6 and I loved the new updated features, the game keeps growing and I really like the direction it's heading. I used to shoot animals from boats, that seems to no longer be possible. I've now attempted luring them to cliffs, but after damaging them and chasing them for what feels like ages (and dangerously so with other animals about!) my marks just don't seem to die, I've not the opportunity to shoot them again, nor do I have the means to get enough resources without their meat, intestines, and bones to feed my village. I've looked up a few videos and while I'm no stranger to melee combat in the old system, the new seems very complex and confusing, it also seems to be done exclusively on horseback which brings me to my next question:

Taming! I am used to calling down thunder, gaining advantage and then quelling to have the beast transmogrify into its domesticated counterpart. With my lack of melee expertise in this new combat system, which I'm learning slowly but surely, I fail to understand how I'm able to tame a beast in the first place, I've noticed some new "Hearth Magic" spells but rather than waste experience on a fizzled attempt I'd just like a point in the right direction to how it's done now. I've two more questions concerning my two favorite things to do:

Mining! I'm used to radial mine supports and all the fun of spontaneous cave-ins, trolls, and mining hours on end into stony nothingness. I have discovered a few mines and have been lucky enough to find some metal within. I however am unsure what all these new minerals are about, realism is always welcome but I'm no geologist. What minerals should I be looking for? How does one try to get a metal industry started and what tools/attributes/skills are recommended to start such a venture?

Exploration! I've seen a few posts complaining that exploration is "dead". Is this nonsense or does it retain some merit? I loved leaving and exploring to bring back chests of edels, chiming bluebells, and river pearl mussels in their pixilated glory. Are crafted or animal curios now much more superior? What are the standards for which curios are compared, are we no longer based on an edelweiss based economy with points and pearls being our backbone? I'm curious as to how things have changed in this regard given that I've been absent for quite a while.

As always, a great game and I'm absolutely looking forward to any replies,

Thank you.
