New combat system is in the making, rumored to address this)

is there a damn group out there that goes out of their way to ruin any class i play in any MMO? because i loved range on here.... and the spear.

Dito for spears.

also, why does java go apeshit and tell me that the base client is unsafe as hell and why does firefox tell me that my login isnt secure? i dont remember all that when i played a few years back.
Because H&H game server and website (when accessed via https) use a self signed certificate that you have to accept once (so it's stored in your java/browser), after that it is more secure than the 'industry standard' where every certificate issuer can basically issue a certificate for every site (one hight profile example) so you won't even notice that your connection just got MITM'ed because the new (fraudulent) certificate is 'valid'.

Tips on where to fish for grayling and ide? Also, what bait/lure should I use? I need both of them for a quest and I'm having no luck getting them.

It's specific to different hearthlings - remove your hearthlings right arm, plant in ground to use as a gnomon - draw the shapes of the different fish around it and wait for the moonlight to fall on the one you desire and then walk in that direction until you reach a river and start fishing.

Otherwise it is easier to find a particular fish by lure fishing, even more so if you have the fisherman credo, make a bunch of lures and test lakes and rivers until you find the ones you want, greyling is relatively easy to find in my experience, ide is not but in any event there isn't a simple 'this is where to go and what to use' answer to that question, it's trial and error I'm afraid.

What you 'see' (when lure fishing) depends on the combination of biome (deep/shallow river/lake), lure, hook (bone, metal, chitin) [and possibly the line, but I didn't test that] and location.
What you can catch is another question, usually one seems to be able to 'see' a fish with 2-3 different lures and 2 of the 3 hooks - the fish will always eat certain combinations, while the chance for that happening with the right one is reduced it's still existing. The table on the wiki dosn't reflect that the type of hook makes a difference (or which one works for a species), and the lures are off for some.

Yeah. That is exactly what I do.
They never decay indoors.
Wastelands. Ruins everywhere from proud civilizations, with today's survivors scavenging whatever they can carry even if they can't even use it. Eating rats cooked alive is OK for everyone. Walking around naked is natural, since very few have time to waste in getting a rag to cover their deep wounds. And the game is only Alpha.
