Generally if you try to inspect something and nothing happens, that means the quality doesn't matter. (Examples: cheese racks, chairs, tables, cupboards, walls). If you inspect and see a quality number, then the quality probably matters. For beds it speeds up wound progression, and I think it also speeds up travel weariness reduction.

That's a good way to state it, and yes, this is the other purpose of using a bed.

Does quality on merchant robes matter in anyway anymore? For gilding? For anything at all.

Quality of the item being gilded into clothing is softcapped by the clothing item, so yeah, it can matter.

What is the render distance, or how far can I see objects from my character?

I have been searching all over for chives this world, but have been unable to find any. I have travelled as much as I can and have time for, but still no luck. I think my character have enough per*exp to see them. What gives? The wiki tells me it can be found on sombre bramble, and I have tried on terrain I think is that. But maybe I am looking at all the wrong places. Advice appreciated!

the wiki is right.
There are billions chives here, In Sombre Bramble they are common like dandelions.
Advice is - use amber client, press ctrl+shift+I, then shift+i on the ground and u will see terrain name next to cursor.
Maybe u choose wrong terrain, and u sure have more than 900 per x exp? To see all u need 2700. And foraging skill ofc(we have this question before :))

Thanks, that will help I am sure. If they are as common as dandelions then I have never been close to a Sombre Bramble terrain. My character has 6000, so it should not be that. Still looking...

Update: That worked, thanks!

So, I heard it is possible to change building colors via using somehow other material. Is it only done by shoppy custom sketch or it is a way to do it different?

Different materials = different colours.
Check this, maybe it gives you a better idea: Building Color/Design Guide
