You need specific coins from a specific coin press. There will be stands you can buy GQs from.

It is possible to make your own golden quills, but they won't be compatible with the "official" ones, and so people may come back later on you with pitchforks and in a mob for counterfeiting. viewtopic.php?f=39&t=45556&hilit=coinpress#p592294

There should be stalls that buy items with coins, although they likely ask for hard to acquire items. Previous world I was able to acquire currency by selling bannergrade (q1+ for things that don't have quality) cloth, no idea if people buy it these days.

Thanks for the clarification! :D Pretty sure i got something to trade, namely cast iron bars.

And i got another question (yeah i know, i'm asking a lot lol) :

I'm right next to another realm (Hedgehugs) of which i would like to join, but i don't want to move.
How would i go about making a Border Cairn for that?

You can't. Someone with permissions from Hedgehugs would have to. You can ask them for this in their recruitment thread in Dwarves & Thieves. They also have a discord channel you can chat with them in (see their thread for information).

Crop quality randomization is based on location and time. Every how many hours the rng roll happens? I've read on the forums that I would have to wait about 5 hours, but some players in-game told me that just 1 is enough. Or perhaps there's a better way to reliably raise crop quality? It seems way more tedious than before, and more prone to botting.

In legacy it was easy: all I had to do was to plant the best seeds, and will small enough fields the seed sorting was not a problem at all.

Every hour. It's not like people didn't bot seed-sorting anyway. I made some posts about this here

Pretty sure devs stated that the offset drifts slightly over time and takes around six hours and a 500x500 tile area for it to become totally random. This hasn't changed that I'm aware since it was first implemented, even with the farming changes a little while back.

Take it to the water and press ctrl and left-click ... it will fall into the water, then right-click and you will get the option to 'pick up' or 'into the blue yonder!' :D

Getting out is the same as getting out of any boat, click it again to pick it back up. :)
