They've always been hard to find. They're out there. Sorry, I don't have the exact biome, but I usually see them in some of the grassland variations.

It may help if you're using the Amber client (or a variation of it). You can toggle specific trees to show on the mini-map, or you can at least see tooltips when you mouse over trees or terrain and get the object name.

milk quantity , milk quality , Q of the animal , breeding are the main ones for cow
breeding softcap ( or hardcap? not sure ) the Q of the baby

Quality of your milk will be : Q of animal * milk quality * farming credo (if you have it).

So, if I keep the ones with better milk quantity values I'll have baby cows with better milk quantities too?

Over time, yes, but any one birth might generate a regression with a small loss in stats. Animal husbandry is a bit random much like other attempts to raise quality.

It's been a while since I've dug into exactly how the numbers work, so not sure if they're still the same as the last time I had a dairy farm (like w6).

Is there a way to place trees in the middle of a tile? I hold shift and it doesn't seem to do it.

I know that placing other objects down automatically centers them in the tile. It's been a while since I planted a tree, and thought they auto-centered, too, when planting. Try the control key. That used to be the one to place objects down centered before it became default behavior.

(If trees don't auto-center, might be worth requesting it just as a standard behavior for everything.)

I didn't find this question anywhere, so I noticed people have been talking about replacing the inner roundpole fences with palisade due to the update where fleing animals will break items now.
My question is though, why do people actually build the round pole fences in the first place? I'm aware that people is unable to open the gates due to visitor buff, but also due to visitor buff they shouldn't be able to do anything inside your base? Like if I give trespassing rights then all people will be able to do is walk around on my claim, so why do people feel a need to close them out with an extra gate?

A fence is just a cheap and easy way of controlling livestock. However, since livestock can potentially break them when you're trying to tame, the taming area will need to be upgraded to a palisade. It's still good for keeping livestock penned.

There is the decorative value some people like, too.

As far as anywhere else, it has been a cheesy means of triggering the visitor debuff. It's been abused, and couple of fixes have been put it in, so I'm not sure of the exploit's usability anymore.

Is it possible to extend a landclaim in a village if you're not part of it? I have a claim in an area that became a village but when I try to expand it, it says I can't do it because it's on village property.
