Onions are a "generic" type that count yellow and red varieties as well as leeks. I'm sure if we had garlic, it would also go in there.

If it didn't I'd say "but leeks go in there, so why can't they get their own pile?" and jorb would say "stockpiles for everything! infinite capacity!" :D

Only chickens in a coop, only rabbits in a hutch. It's a requested feature, though.

How long do you need to be away from a chunk (say, because you went inside) before it will reset and be generated fresh when you go back?

15-20 minutes with no player activity. Houses (interior areas) reset reliably since you can tell who's going in or out, but outdoors, anyone even in a neighboring map section will reset the timer.

How do you park a horse so that it doesn't wander away, especially over a short period of time, like say, for a river crossing with a cart...

Have a rope in your inventory to leash it. You can leash it to a hitching post or a tree by right click the rope on the building.

Ah, thanks. Didn't know about trees.

Next Q: What does pipestuff quality do, since the buff maxes out at +10 INT/PSY?

you can make higher qa cigars which are an okay(above average-good) curio, tho xp expensive if you aren't questing.
