But pickaxe looks like work different. Any ideas, how exactly? Seems like q of pickaxe multiplied by 1.5 before softcapping, but i'm totally sure it's not like this.

2x pickaxe quality.

Ok. One more question. pickaxe quality 68. stone axe quality 100. masonry 200. Using pickaxe from same spot and neighbout tiles with pickaxe i mine stone q100, with stone axe i mine stone q120. If it's really pickaxe q x2, then i should mine with pickaxe q68 stone q140.

Pretty sure 2x is what devs mentioned. I may be mistaken on that, and it might only be ore.

You probably need to mention which credos you have and other factors on final quality. Those can throw off the numbers you may be trying to calculate.

Quarrymen only atm, don't have full miner yet. So, it's first hardcapped, then softcapped and only then it's powered up by credos?

I'm trying to do the math in my head, and it doesn't seem to be coming out. I'll have to sit down later with a pen and pencil and figure it up, maybe dig some stone up myself from a couple of spots.

are ore veins predetermined or there's some RNG chance of finding one?

I expect them to be pre-determined on world generation. While creating them at the time of mining/prospecting could technically be possible (would explain the seconds long lags as it would be a complex calculation ;) I don't see the devs having gone through the extra effort that gives no benefit.

Roughly how long does it take for a tanning tub/drying rack to dissappear?

Just started a new toon since the world start just to mess around and my leather has gone up in smoke. I'm guessing it's just someone being a c***-bag but just to check. It's on unclaimed land so there's that. I'm still nomading/mapping around.

EDIT: Do most folk slap down a tiny claim and then dismantle it when moving on?

Decay in this game is random, so anything is possible, but if something's appeared to happen in a non-random fashion, you should expect it to be another players intervention. That being said, expect tanning tubs and drying racks to last several days.

Claims take 8 hours to actually activate and begin protecting your stuff, so the idea of building, removing claims isn't viable. Leantos are the temporary option to protect your stuff.

When you're starting off and don't have good means of protecting your stuff, security through obscurity is your best bet. Hide in a cave or a burrow, leave a small footprint. In the words of a very famous wizard: "keep it secret, keep it safe"

Considering how long we play this game 8 hours is chump change. If I slap down a temp claim just until I get a few traveling materials up and running and then de-spawn it will I get the full LP back?
