Besides the pali around the minehole inside the base do you guys build a pali around the minehole level down and claim it?

build a pally around the minehole on the surface with doors opening inwards, make them visitor gates and you can have access and anyone coming up will get visitor buff. You will be safe and there is no need to claim the lower level around the ladder.

Rats. I already built the Pali (pointing inward thankfully) but not as visitor Gates. Ah to hell with it. Those flags look stupid. Guess I'll just close it after I enter each time

I am trying to build a crossroad in order to traverse a narrow strip of land by boat. I keep getting a message saying there is not sufficient space around the destination. Why is that and what do I need to do? I have placed the destination at the top of an inlet, on a flat shoreline and on a point surrounded by water on three sides and in each case there is still not enough room.
