Does planewood gives darkest color for mansions? And in which terrains it grows naturally?

Far as we can tell yes, and it grows in the "planes" grassland. Pretty bright yellow on the minimap, lots of horses.

Keep walking in a straight line. You can walk 1-2 hours without seeing surface stone. Devs are thinking up ways to fix this.

I've seen them rarely in other biomes. But they're actually common in planes biome. I just use Amber client radar to find tress/rocks personally.
