Has anyone encountered Malachite on layer 2 in this world? I've been stuck on this credo quest for about a week now and haven't been wanting to abandon it because as I'm on layer 2 it would be a matter of time until I find Malachite, but I haven't seen any, at all. I'm wondering if it's been moved to a deeper layer.

Couple of questions. TIA.

How difficult is it to raid a wild beehive? Is it similar to an anthill where I can aggro then walk far away and then run back and get the loot without having to fight the bees at all? If I have to fight the bees then what is recommended stats? I only have 60 UA 25 str 20 agi. I can make some leather armor but it breaks so quickly I feel like it might not be worth the penalty to the agi.

On another note I have finally found some metal and I have only a few metal bars. What are the priorities? I was thinking anvil and then pickaxe first. Followed by boar spear so that I can start getting higher QL stuff and fight stronger mobs.

People generally raid with multiple alts first and have them kite the bees. Some hives are still unraidable because they seem to spawn new bees infinitely. Some beehives might not spawn bees at all, allowing you to raid them solo.

Anvil and Smithy's Hammer (7 hard metal total; cannot be made out of copper or tin unless you combine them into bronze) are required to craft most metal stuff, so those are top priority. Pickaxe will indeed make a big difference in how fast you can mine stuff so that tends to be a good early goal for metal as well, but it costs another 4 hard metal. I also like going for spectacles quickly after getting metal as they make quite a bit of difference in Perception. Depending on your food supply you might want a Meat Grinder too for sausages.

Don't forget symbel. Heck I'd even prioritize it over pick. A good table makes a huge difference in how much you can mine without tanking your hunger. After symbel and pick and grinder I'd try to go for sword or spear and if possible bronze armor (leather armor burns through leather too fast). Melee hunting lets you avoid wasting bones on arrows and lets you use them for better things like glue and curios.

Using a horse

1) Find hive
2) If a single bee is already outside the hive, kill it
3) Raid hive
4) If bee spawns, leave hive and repeat from step 1
