To clarify from experience; some hives have guardian bees around, some don't.
Some hives spawn infinite bees when you raid it, some don't.
Kill the wandering guardians, raid hive, if there's a guardian spawning - leave it alone.

Prioritize normal quality, then meat/hide/milk qual/quan to your taste, i.e. do you care about having good q milk or lots of meat? specializing in one stat will let you raise that stat more quickly, rather than being a jack-of-all-trades-master-of-none.

with regards to breeding quality, females may choose not to mate with males with a lower breeding q than themselves. I don't think you should need to prioritize it since the male with the best breed q will get the most pussy anyways.
