What about if someone engages me in combat, and I hit him back after he attacks me first, but dont murder?

It might depend if you're on your own claim or not. I haven't tested the specifics of assault this world.

Alright. It would just seem VERY unfair if someone was attacked and had to defend them self, onto to leave scents themselves and have the debuff where they stay logged in until. Let me know if you ever find out.

Can anyone confirm bloodstone on cave level (level 1) or is it only level 2? Aside from surface boulders of course.

Edit: Also does prospecting actually prospect the level below? I'm getting like all the same hits in the cave that I do on the surface.

It prospects one level below you, yes. Never seen bloodstone on level 1 though I'm afraid.
