How much coal and iron bars do you need to put in finery forge and how long time needed to finish it?

2 Coal per batch and the more cast iron the more chances you have to get bloom. If you wait too long the bloom will turn into slag, so watch it closely and try to work the bloom into wrought at an anvil with a smithing hammer asap. Failed bloom turns back into cast iron. Slag can be smelted again for a chance at more cast iron.

Are bats supposed to hit you for 42hhp damage when they have KO'd you? My main was just eaten by bats. I assume it was IP move but still... weren't they supposed to be nerfed?

The amount they spawn in, and their aggression levels were tweaked. Combat wise they have the same capability, and their sweeping IP strike deals like 45 damage.

new player here. i dont have a craft icon in the bottom right. do i need to do something to unlock crafting?

You need to discover items. Harvest from trees, rocks, soil. Once you've discovered the components for a craft and have the skill required (beginners stuff has no requirement) you'll see a recipe.

Has anyone figured out how exactly quality rounding goes when building kilns or other things for that matter?

I have one batch of clay with high substance and quality but 10 essence and another with high essence and vitality but 10 substance and wanted to combine the two.

There is not. Kin each other and party up to help find each other. There are public maps that you can use to speed things up.
