The guide referenced gathering stone to make an axe, how does one do this? I've tried clicking on everything that even remotely looks like a rock, but no option to chip stone.

What am I doing wrong?
Have already made the backpack out of birch barks though :)

So, rocks do exist. But the starter zone by now seems to have been completely scoured bare. As such just finding a rock takes walking at least an hour in a straight line...

It's kind of a sucky situation and the devs are mulling over how to fix it I guess. Not sure if they consider it a priority.

Thanks for reminding me, I'll add that tidbit into the start.

You should remove cliff hunting methods. Somone might get killed by boar when they just build fence around it

there are still some boulders in the spawn area though. i think the problem is that people don't know what it looks like. i remember the first time i saw one in hafen, i thought "wtf is that giant egg?" whenever i make a testing char i seem to find stone within 10 minutes without displaying it on the map.

Having recently done up some alts in the starter zone: I walked 2 hours before finding one. Saw many many runestones with various intelligent sayings such as "butts" on them. I'm sure there are some stones left, but it's not good advice to tell a starter they should expect to see a stone. I did a little edit mentioning this in the First Steps post.

Overall, hoping that Jorbtar addresses the situation with a stone forageable (hey stone quality too?).

I recently found a mountain, rocks were everywhere, 3-5 in every minimap. 3 different kinds too. Mountains take some effort to locate (or use the world map) but taking a cart or wagon to one would yield quite a few rocks.

It'd be nice if you could chip stones from runestones to destroy them, maybe 10 times.

I have a question regarding UA and MC...
My friends are telling me I should go just a little of MC to discover shield and parry, and then go fully UA, because MC have only one attack "Chop" and it's not going full MC, they are telling me it's possible to wear sword, a shield and still use punch attack's which are way better than MC because there is more of them... is the combat really that stupid in this game? How you can wear a shield with a sword and still be able to use UA decks, such as punch, left hooks etc?

If that's how you define stupid, then I suppose it is.

Just a suggestion, but you may want to add how Armor works. You have damage, active defense, and damage mitigation (healing) but nothing about armor except a passing mention about vitality and wear in the Symbel section at the end (which seems a bit out of place, btw)

The taming section already covers it (It's mentioned in the quick nav too I believe). You have a point that it might make more sense to have a "mechanics" section rather than sprinkling it throughout the guide like I've done.

The final section with mention to symbel might do best with wiki links to important pages. I feel flat out mechanic descriptions are best suited to wiki style formatting for this exact reason. Much easier to search. If you were control+F searching armor, I'm canadian and it might be I used our spelling of the word (armour) instead.

Appreciate you taking the time to read and comment for sure!

Aha. I had read over the guide a while before, but went back browsing through it navigating by Topic. Taming didn't seem like an obvious place to find info about Armor (or Armour, heh).

Thanks for pointing me to the info.

One quick question though, is there a ratio of absorb damage to wear or is it just 1:1?
