Cause that's what just happened to me. Wasn't it supposed to become wine, take more time in a barrel and only then become vinegar?

you need to put grapejuice in a demijohn before it's gone stale to make wine. but your vinegar is more useful anyway, wine can't be drunk yet.
I do have some wine as well, since i made that earlier (thinking that i needed it for vinegar). It was just to unerstand if it was supposed to work lke that or if it were some bug.
Also, technically speaking, wine can already be used - in a recipe, beeted bird breast.
