If I start smoking something like pipeweed or hemp then log out for a bit. Does it consume and buff the character for the duration same as if it were logged on?

Can you make a cigar? (Also requires discovering dried pipeweed.) Are we sure it's only "pottery"? Of course, only other thing I can think of would be farming, and if you harvested pipeweed, you obviously have that.

Yes, though I'm not sure about the specifics. I think the chance of conversion to Leech Burns correlates to the amount of damage you take from leeches.

I can't answer on coracles, but on destructibles (boat, dugout) it's quite an effort to get the vehicle destroyed.
You're boating away most of the time anyway and the animal destructing your boat is shown by loud chopping noises.

You can still die, but a lot less likely.

Until you buy rage. Then that's gone.
